Payments

Shawnigan Lake School is pleased to offer a wide variety of payment options to students and their families. Please note, for all forms of payment, you must include the student’s Shawnigan Student ID (Account No.) — which is the six-digit student number for your child found on your monthly statement right below the student name.

For questions or more information regarding any of the options, please select the item or contact the finance department.

Phone inquiries can be directed to the Accounting Office through the School’s main switchboard:
250-743-5516.

Payment options

List of 4 items.

  • Online banking (domestic)

For any parent/guardian with a Canadian Bank account, online banking is the most efficient method and does not involve a fee. As with other monthly bills you may set up Shawnigan Lake School as a payee in your bill payments window of your online banking site. When prompted, please enter the student’s Shawnigan Student ID (Account No.) and complete your payment.
  • Cheques (domestic)

Cheques made out to “Shawnigan Lake School” are accepted and should be annotated with the student's Shawnigan Student ID (Account No.) in the memo line of the cheque.  This is especially important if the personalized cheque holder has a different name than the student.

Cheques can be hand delivered to the Accounting offices on the 4th floor of the main administration building (Learning Commons) or they can be mailed to:

  • Credit card

We do not accept credit card payments as a   standard payment option, primarily due to the high fees charged for transactions. International Credit Card payments may be made, from most countries, through Flywire. If you wish to pay by credit card from a country not supported by Flywire, find instructions for paying by Credit Card on SHAWNET through your student portal here.

  • International payments by Flywire

Shawnigan Lake School has partnered with the online banking service provider Flywire to streamline the tuition payment process for our international students. With Flywire, international students receive the following benefits:

    • Excellent foreign exchange rates, allowing payments to be made in a student’s home currency (generally)
    • Payment tracking through the transfer process via a student dashboard
    • Email confirmation to the family when payment is received by the school
    • Fast and secure payments
    • Assurance that the exact payment amount sent is the same amount received by the school (no hidden bank fees)

Go to shawnigan.flywire.com to begin the payment process, to learn more about Flywire or to find international support 24/7 via Skype, email or phone.

A Shawnigan Student ID (Account No.) is required when using Flywire. Your Shawnigan Student ID is a six digit number you were assigned by our admissions department when your application was accepted and it can also be found on your student statement right below the student’s name.

FLYWIRE offers a best price guarantee which allows FLYWIRE to match your bank rate should your bank rate be better than the posted FLYWIRE rate.
Please note that the FLYWIRE exchange rate should be compared to the one your bank provides, not to market rate (google, xe.com).
How it works:
  1. Make a Booking choosing a local bank transfer option in your local currency. Please do not transfer the funds.
  2. Take a screenshot or proof of the exchange rate quote from your bank including the wire fees.
  3. Submit the Flywire Payment ID generated when you made the Booking with SLS and the proof or quote from your bank to support@flywire.com
  4. Flywire support will respond and adjust the rate for you.
