Shawnigan's top fine artists were celebrated on Wednesday with the presentation of Fine Arts accolades.
After entertaining the School with a hilarious roll of impressions, Shawnigan's Director of Fine Arts Morgan McLeod spoke about the value of the arts in binding the community together. "We thrive on connections and shared experiences," Mr. McLeod said. "Whether it be in the explicitly shared moments from our performing artists … to the pulsating beat of a night of dance, to the music on this stage ringing up to the chapel bell and beyond, to the deafening and dynamic sound of students rocking out, or those implicitely shared moments where something you create takes on a life of its own, sparking emotions and feelings that are shared with countless other people while the creator remains blissfully unaware and eternally optimistic."
Mr. McLeod then presented full year Fine Arts awards and third term Fine Arts Colours, as listed below.
