The midterm break brought the first farewell of the year, as Shawnigan bid 'Au revoir' to the latest exchange group from Lycee Sacre-Coeur.
For 12 days in October, 36 students from Shawnigan's partner school in Angers, France enjoyed beautiful autumn weather on Vancouver Island.
The group was mostly accommodated in Shawnigan dorms, giving these French day students a taste of a Canadian boarding experience. During the mornings, the group would typically attend Shawnigan classes, while afternoons were saved for exploring local culture and landmarks.
They also spent a long weekend in Tofino, enjoying an authentic West Coast experience.
Shawnigan's next visit to Angers (in the Pays de la Loire region of western France) is set for March of 2019, with exact dates and tour information to be confirmed soon.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play.
