Prep School pin presentation

A special evening in Hartl House
On Nov. 21, Prep School students, past and present, gathered for the inaugural Prep Pin Presentation and Pizza Party.

Last year, in a quest to commemorate his one-year experience in the Prep School, Damon K. (Lonsdale’s) initiated and executed a plan for a Prep pin. At Shawnigan, pins are prestigiously worn on blazers in recognition of various successes.

In her speech to the crowd of alum, current students, administrators, advisers, teachers, and house staff, Jenny Z. (Kaye’s) said proudly, “Studying in another country is challenging and requires courage. After a year of transition in the Prep School, every student has developed skills in all aspects, and we are ready to emerge.”

Prep students have earned recognition for their many successes at the Prep School, and this acknowledgment now exists in the form of a small wearable letter P with a dragon tail. This year’s Prep students are already looking forward to next year when they will return to Prep, receive pins, and reflect on their experiences in the Prep School.
