Athletic colours
Recognizing first term standouts
Dedicated athletes were recognized as Shawnigan presented first-term athletic colours on Thursday.
Honouring students in Grades 10 and 12, colours are presented each term to student-athletes demonstrating a strong skill set and sportsmanship, as well as leadership and commitment to their teams or programs.
"You deserve those ties," Headmaster Larry Lamont said after the presentations. Mr. Lamont pointed to his own colours tie – earned on the sports field during his post-graduate studies – that he wears every Thursday. "Wear them with pride," he suggested. "And look back on these times and these seasons with huge pride."
