A week of Fine Arts at Shawnigan
The days have been flavoured by an explosion of colour, music, and motion.
Marking the culmination of a year of Fine Arts, Shawnigan enjoyed a carnival of talent this week, including awards, a Fine Arts Fair, and a pair of exceptional concerts.
Running Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the annual Fine Arts concerts featured an engaging variety of top-notch performances, including vocal duets and choral ensembles, films, monologues, speeches, instrumental pieces, and dance numbers.
Not to be outdone, Shawnigan's vast array of visual artists then exhibited an enormous collection of works for Wednesday's Fine Arts Festival, including painting and drawings, sculptures and models, carvings, garments and robots.
While students and guests wandered through the displays, they were treated to more musical performances, fly-fishing demonstrations, and incredible chalk sidewalk drawings of the School done in the style of famous artists from history.
With a classical concert still to come on Saturday, the week has truly shown the breadth and amazing success of Shawnigan's Fine Arts programs.
