Shawnigan squads turned in strong performances at this weekend's basketball tournaments.
Co-hosting the Countdown to Playoffs tournament with Brentwood, the Senior Boys earned two wins in three games at the Sportsplex.
On Friday, Shawnigan turned in a solid team performance in a 60-54 victory over Wellington before falling to Belmont in game two.
On Saturday, the boys wrapped up play with a strong 61-59 win over Pacific Academy.
Meanwhile, the Junior Girls had a golden weekend at the ISA championship at St. Margaret's School in Victoria.
In the round robin, the girls earned three comprehensive victories, powering past Glenlyon Norfolk School, West Point Grey Academy and Southpointe Academy.
Shawnigan then earned a 20-point win over Mulgrave School in Saturday's final to claim first place overall in the tournament.
"The girls played amazing," said Coach Ronni Brown. "Everyone on the team stepped up — it was cool to watch!"
