Regular Season Finale
Shawnigan's senior girls are looking forward after a short regular season.
After opening the year with an exhibition win over Brentwood, the girls dropped a nervy 2-0 decision against league-leaders Frances Kelsey.
The squad then competed at the ISA championships, earning one win in four games against strong sides from Victoria and Vancouver.
After an exhibition win over Cowichan, the girls earned a convincing win over Gulf Islands on Salt Spring Island.
Sunday, April 23 brought a decisive showdown with Brentwood, with both teams carrying 1-1 records heading into the regular season finale. The well-played contest ended in a 1-1 draw, with Shawnigan winning a penalty shootout.
Shawnigan now heads into a friendly vs. Queen Margaret's on Thursday, before a likely berth in the North Island Championship, starting next week.
The team has shown considerable growth over the short season, and looks to continue that momentum into the playoffs.
