Grade 8s visit Horne Lake Caves

Grade 8 students are getting used to life outside of their comfort zone.

In just the second week of term, 40 Grade 8s ventured to Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park for a three-day camping excursion.

The trip included an afternoon of guided exploration of the caves themselves, plus rappelling, kayaking, and team-building activities. The students slept in tents, and also enjoyed games and time spent by the campfire.

Building on a Shawnigan tradition, much of the heavy lifting on the trip was done by six leaders from the Grade 12 class.
