On a cold and wet Saturday night, the entire student body, along with many staff members, gathered in the Hugh Wilkinson Theatre for an evening of entertainment and competition. Inter-house Airband is always one of the highlights of the year, and students have been planning for this night for weeks. This is an Inter-house event like none other – the result of hours of collaboration and rehearsals.
As the whole School gathered in the theatre, the air was thick with House spirit. Spontaneous cheering and organized chants filled the room, as brother and sister houses supported each other well. Adding to the festive atmosphere, students in the audience were dressed in fun costumes and bright colours as they waited for their turn to perform.
Each House rose to the challenge in extraordinary fashion. Mrs. McLeod, one of the judges, even declared this the best Inter-house Airband ever! We heard quite a variety of songs – everything from Disney to Grease to K-Pop! During each performance, the stage was filled with dozens of students, as the majority of each House participated. What a wonderful way for students to show off their creativity!
Congratulations to participants from all houses. It was hard to pick winners after such a fantastic night of performances, but alas, the judges had to choose. On the boys’ side, Lonsdale’s House was the runner-up and Copeman’s House was the winner; on the girls’ side, Groves’ House was the runner-up and Renfrew House was the winner.
