Holiday Light up

A festive tradition
The whole School gathered in front of the Main Building on Wednesday night for a special Shawnigan tradition – the annual holiday light up! Every year we gather to watch as the School’s Christmas lights are turned on for the first time, and every year we are amazed by the dazzling transformation of our campus!

Anticipation grew as students and staff mingled in the frosty air, keeping warm with delicious cookies and hot chocolate provided by our kitchen team. A small bonfire also helped to ward off the cold weather. As the appointed time approached, all who were gathered counted down to the big moment. A collective gasp of admiration was heard when the switch was flipped, revealing the many strings of beautiful lights that now adorn the Main Building, Chapel, Marion Hall, and school gardens.

Many thanks to our incredible grounds crew who spent several days stringing these lights around campus. You have helped us all get into the holiday spirit, and have brightened our day – and night – in a very real way.
