The survival cooking program has started up again in our brand new kitchen in the Friesen Centre. This program is intended to ensure that all Grade 12 students have the opportunity to learn some basic cooking skills as part of our school's well-rounded educational philosophy. On Monday, the first group of students gathered to prepare Cajun grilled red snapper fish fillets with a rock cod salad and fries. For dessert they made their own version of sponge cake coated with instant vanilla pudding, whipped cream sprinkled with chocolate pieces and smarties.
This program will not make them master chefs, but they will be able to cater for themselves at university should the need arise.
