The second term has only just begun, and already Shawnigan's ice hockey teams are in full gear. This weekend (January 10 & 11), the Varsity team hosts the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA), before welcoming the Pursuit of Excellence (POE) the following Saturday and Sunday. All games will take place at Kerry Park Arena in Mill Bay.
The two Okanagan-based teams make a return trip to the Island on February 6-8 as part of a "Showcase Weekend" Shawnigan is hosting at our new rink. The visiting teams will be joined by squads from Compete Academy, Banff Hockey Academy and the Edge School for Athletes. We will also welcome Burnaby Winter Club's Prep team for a game on February 14th.
You may also have heard that the hockey teams did a little bit of traveling over the break, playing 10 games in two different tournaments. We finished 5th in the Midget Tier 1 category in Richmond, and finished 1st in Duncan. Thank you for your wonderful support!
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play.
