Game 1 vs Lambrick Park - Lambrick is traditionally one of the top AA schools on the Island, so we knew going in that we would have our hands full. Our girls struggled in the first half to find their fitness, but they were making progress; down 17 at half. We made a couple changes at half time and played much better in the second half. We actually won the half by 3, so we lost the game by 14. Kelsey M. was the player of the game.
Game 2 vs Point Grey - PG was a very scrappy team but struggled offensively. We won the game by 12, but it was never close. The win was a full team effort. Chelsea G. was the player of the game.
Game 3 vs Brentwood - Awesome game from start to finish. Our team was still figuring out some offensive and defensive strategies, but the effort was off the charts. We have inexperienced players for the most part so each game is full of little lessons. We were down 24-21 at half. In the second half as you witnessed, it was back and forth the entire time until we managed to get a 6 point lead with 2 minutes to go. Again, there were many little lessons to learn and in this case managing the clock without rushing shots or turning the ball over. In the end, Brentwood committed an unfortunate turnover with 12 seconds left to play, allowing us to run out the clock and win 47-44. Casey C. was the player of the game.
