The Shawnigan Indoor Field Hockey team participated as the only high school squad in the annual Vancouver Hawks tournament at the Richmond Olympic Oval over the weekend. The young group showed an impressive learning curve as they pushed through four games in one day, pitting their skills against UVIC, SFU, UBC and the Vancouver Hawks. The team notched two losses and three wins and finished third overall in the tournament. The team highlight of the tournament was two solid back-to-back victories over current CIS national outdoor champions, UBC. Defender Paula J. played an outstanding tournament and received 5 MVP nominations for her impeccable performance.
