Shawnigan Ergs!
February Erg Competitions
February 1st, Shawnigan athletes headed to Victoria to compete in UVic's Monster Erg. Our rowers did a great job of competing, and achieved some impressive results. Hannah N. and Claudia N. placed 9th and 10th in the Junior Girls event. Kyle F. placed 3rd in the Junior Boys race. Anna K. had a personal best score while placing 6th in the Senior Girls event. The senior boys placed 8 athletes in the top 17, with Travis G. coming 5th. Senior lightweight athletes also fared very well with Nicole F. placing 6th, and Gavin S. coming 2nd. Finally, Sandy M. trained hard and won the Coxie's race in impressive fashion. See great photos on the row2k Website.
Athletes also traveled to Brentwood to race in an erg competition that the two schools have held for the past few years. Notable results there were:
