Shawnigan's Junior girls field hockey team showed well at the ISA tournament this weekend.
Played on Shawnigan's water-based turf, the squad put together a solid round robin to advance to the semi-finals.
The girls suffered a disappointing loss in the semis, dropping the game in a shootout against Collingwood.
However, the team showed good character with a 2-1 victory over Brentwood in the bronze medal game.
Coach Andi Conroy says she was thrilled with the sportsmanship and quality of hockey all around, adding that any of the top three teams could have taken the gold.
