On Wednesday, the Shawnigan rugby U14 and U15 teams played host to our great friends Crossley Heath from Halifax, England.
It was great to see their staff and students again, as they hosted our Colts during last year's spring break tour of the UK.
This is Crossley Heath's fourth time visiting Shawnigan Lake School. As always the games were played with great skill, spirit and enthusiasm. There were some fantastic passages of play that led to numerous tries being scored in both games.
In the end it was a split, with Crossley Heath winning the U14 game, and Shawnigan winning the U15 matchup.
Following the game all four teams enjoyed each other's company with a post-match banquet held in Marion Hall. We wish our guests the best of luck and safe travels and they head off for their next matches versus GP Vanier and Brentwood.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
