Regarding VIHA water advisory
           November 16, 2015

Dear Parent(s),

Just in case any of you have had any concerns about the recent VIHA advisory on the quality of the water at the South End of the Lake, please be reassured that this warning does not affect the School’s drinking water in any way. We are as outraged as the rest of the community that something we have been predicting for a couple of years as a possible concern from the soil dumping that has been taking place in an old quarry up above the Lake, effectively in its watershed, could actually start to materialize as it has.

There is a legal appeal to the Supreme Court pending in the next few weeks and certainly our collective hope is that common sense will prevail and a stop will be put to this whole sorry business. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further concerns.

My best wishes,

David Robertson
Headmaster, Shawnigan Lake School
