Senior girls earn strong results

Basketball team third at Brentwood tournament
Shawnigan's senior girls are showing promise early in the basketball season.

The girls finished third at the Brentwood tournament last weekend, finishing with two wins and a loss.

In the first game, the squad earned its first-ever victory over Lambrick Park Secondary, with Alexie P. named Shawnigan's player-of-the-game.

After a disappointing outing against Parkland Secondary, Shawnigan earned a win over Wellington, thanks to a strong second half, in particular from Xenia K.

Overall, Milena J scored a team high 58 points over the three games.

The girls head to the Willington Superball Tournament in Nanaimo Jan. 12-14.
