Rocket Science!
It has become a tradition for Physics 11 and AP Physics 1 classes to engage in a Rocketry project as a means to review many of the topics studied in earlier months: kinematics, dynamics, impulse and momentum.

On Monday, we took advantage of the calm, warm evening air after dinner, and launched rockets whose designs and colours reflected the skills and creative initiative of their builders.

The evening was not without drama, as at least one rocket got lost in the trees; why this should happen is a mystery, as there was no cross-wind. Perhaps poorly-aligned fins were an issue.... Fortunately, the errant rocket was eventually found, and the flight successfully repeated.

One must remember that Elon Musk's early SpaceX flights sometimes encountered problems, so DE, KM and JP (Co/Dux/Co) are in good company! KK and LS (G/K) also had problems – with their ignition systems – but perseverance paid off and their 3rd launch attempt lifted off flawlessly!

A great time was had by all!
