Growing Dome

The Growing Green program is an opportunity for students to learn about sustainable agriculture in a year-round productive geodesic dome on campus. The central theme of Growing Green is sustainability, promoting awareness and understanding about economic, environmental, and social food sustainability. Students have the opportunity to be involved in the planning of crops from seed to harvest. Using a scientific approach, students will explore soil sciences, pollination, integrated pest control, biodiversity, and landscape design. Furthermore, Growing Green members will be challenged to think of solutions to the question at the heart of both a climate-friendly food system and food security: how to feed nine billion people with our planet's limited resources.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
