Grade 8s perform Elf
Performing Arts 8 students ushered in the festive season and the beginning of the recent Parent Open House weekend with their heart-warming performance of Elf: The Musical on Nov. 23.
The students put on both an afternoon and evening performance at the Hugh Wilkinson Theatre, welcoming children from the Shawnigan Lake Montessori Pre-School in the afternoon and a packed house of Shawnigan parents in the evening.
The grade group worked together to select the show, with each performer asked to choose their top three roles.
“It was absolutely amazing see them all up there,” says Director of Fine Arts Morgan McLeod. “It’s great to give our Grade 8s a taste of performance and the opportunity to do something they might otherwise not. Having this class at the beginning of the year also gives them a unique chance to bond with one another. We are so proud of the group for being incredibly positive all the way through.”
