Camino de Santiago
On Saturday, The Reverend Holland told us about his Spring Break pilgrimage on the Camino or as it is also known, the Way of St. James, in Spain. It took him 30 days to walk the 800 kilometres --an average of 25 to 30 km a day. On a daily walk like this, many challenges presented themselves, and Rev. Holland referred to them as resistances. "The only way to deal with the little resistances," he said, "was to do the thing you were resisting, which was to simply get up and walk!" Walking was not only the goal, but also the solution to the problems that arose. He challenged us to focus our energies on determination: "To complain is to avoid what we should be doing."
