On Thursday, April 30, sixteen grade twelve students participated in an Adjudication Evening for the Dogwood District Authority Awards. Shawnigan students, after the completion of their application (including a one-page personal statement and a reference), were invited to Glenlyon Norfolk School to be interviewed by experts in their application category. They qualified in numerous categories: Performance in Sport, Leadership in Sport, Creative Writing, Debate/Public Speaking, Drafting/Design, Studio Arts, Photography, Robotics, and Community Service. Students who are awarded the Dogwood Scholarship will receive $1000 towards the cost of their post-secondary education. This evening has become a tradition for many of our ambitious, versatile students – an event prepared for thoroughly and with much enthusiasm. Congratulations to all for a successful evening.
