A dying woman reflects on literature, intellect, and humanity as Shawnigan Lake School stages Wit.
Set in a private hospital room, Margaret Edson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play centres on Vivian Bearing, a renowned English Professor, as she faces the cancer that will soon take her life.
As she recalls moments from her career and her hospitalization, Bearing begins to reassess her life and philosophy. Profound as well as humourous, Wit is performed 'in the round' at the Hugh Wilkinson Theatre on Friday and Saturday June 5-6 (7:30 pm).
Performed by senior Theatre Performance students, this one-act play is certain to be as transformative for audiences as it is for the characters involved.
