It was another great day of rugby on Saturday, as Shawnigan celebrated Founder's Day during this very special year. We hosted our great rivals and friends from St George's for the grade 8 and 9 fixtures.
Both games were hotly-contested, as both schools take great pride in their rugby programs. It is fitting that these two great foes split the results, with Saints winning the grade 8 game and Shawnigan winning the grade 9 affair.
The feature game saw a combination side from North Star Academy and Capilano RFC take on the TRS XV representing Shawnigan.
TRS are the initials of long-time head of rugby and former 1st XV coach Rhodri Samuel. It is a well-deserved tribute to the School's Senior Master to have the Founder's Day side named in his honour.
A great display of running rugby was on show from both sides. The TRS XV come out on top scoring some fantastic team tries.
A huge thank you goes to our visiting teams for being a part of a special day.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play.
