ShawMUN 2017
Model UN Conference
This past weekend, Shawnigan Model UN hosted delegates from New York, Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland for the 7th annual ShawMUN conference.
Many Shawnigan students participated in this two-day event and contributed to the running of the conference as members of the secretariat, committee directors and chairs, pages, photographers, videographers and delegates.
Delegates were immersed in one of the nine committees that ranged from the General Assembly on the illicit arms trade and the Cascadia Independence 2021 committee to a Security Council loosely based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.
ShawMUN would not have been possible without the secretariat and the whole Model UN team, whose work over the past few months made this weekend a memorable experience for over 275 visiting students
