No. 1 Seed for Island Championship

Tennis has begun its competitive season in full force.

On Tuesday, April 25, Shawnigan sent four teams to the Island ISA Championships.
We did not have our full squads, but managed to acquit ourselves quite well given the circumstances.  In particular, the Senior Girls played very well and ended up winning the event.

This past week, Shawnigan played Brentwood twice and won both times, 9-2 and 7-4.  Doing so earns Shawnigan the number one seeding entering the Island Championships, which will take place on May 15th.  Should Shawnigan place first or second in that tournament, we will advance to the Provincial Championships, which take place at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, May 25 -27.

There has been some excellent play from many individuals, but what is most noteworthy about this year's squad is its fantastic team play.
