The Shawnigan community threw its weight behind a worthy cause on Saturday, as the Canucks Autism Network presented the Cowichan Valley Canucks Legends Family Skate.
This event once again brought families coping with autism to the Shawnigan campus for a day of on- and off-ice fun, including 3-on-3 hockey games, life-sized board games, and bicycle obstacle course.
Fans and supporters also had the chance to mingle with former Canucks Kirk McLean, Jyrki Lumme, Dave Babych and Darcy Rota as they participated in a Q&A session and a public skate.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, a legion of Shawnigan students also volunteered at Savour Cowichan's 'Barge On In' event – another fundraiser for the Canucks Autism Network.
