Shawnigan's Midget Prep team is hoping a new winning streak is underway.
The School hosted a CSSHL divisional showcase this past weekend, with eight teams on campus and a dozen games scheduled in the Charlie Purdey Arena.
The host team began the weekend with a stumble, falling 3-0 to Okanagan Hockey Academy (Red) on Thursday evening. The victory marked OHA's seventh win in a row, but also ended Shawnigan's eight-game run.
Shawnigan then regained momentum as the weekend progressed, earning a 5-3 win over Edge School on Friday followed by a 5-0 triumph over Banff on Saturday.
Shawnigan now sits in 4th place in the Prep division with eight regular season games remaining.
Shawnigan teams are heading into a busy week of play before the Christmas break. The Midget Prep team faces PCHA in a home-and-home series, Dec. 16-17, while other teams will travel to showcases in Delta (Midget Varsity), Edmonton (Girls) and Saskatoon (Bantam Prep).
