Calm water and sunny skies greeted local and visiting athletes for this weekend's Ironman Subaru Shawnigan Lake Triathlon.
13 students competed in the event, led by Angus B. and Ava B. who contributed to a winning relay team. Ethan R. also finished third in his category.
A dozen staff members also took part, with Jared Riseborough, Eric Venables and Mike Rea placing third in the sprint event.
Upwards of 30 volunteers from the SLS community also contributed their time and talents, with Kelsey McDaniel leading 10 kayakers in the water safety team while Gary Dukelow and a contingent from the Stag Café served treats to hungry athletes.
