A mere week into their Shawnigan careers, 34 intrepid grade eights faced a whole different type of challenge.
Just as they were beginning to settle in to life at Shawnigan, the School's freshman class boarded a bus heading to Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park.
From Thursday to Saturday, the group enjoying spelunking (caving), kayaking and rappelling, as well as fun and games around the campfire.
The expedition served as an icebreaker for students still getting to know one another, as well as a first taste of the School's extensive experiential learning program.
The grade eights were also accompanied by eight grade 12 students who took on organizational roles around the camp.
