Great weekend of rugby at Rugby Sevens in Vancouver!
It was a great weekend of rugby at the HSBC Canada Rugby Sevens event held in Vancouver.
Shawnigan held an event at the Vancouver Rugby Sevens with a focus on fundraising for financial aid that will help us increase access to our School for promising applicants and community programs like Thunder Indigenous Rugby. Thank you to our sponsors, donors, parents, alumni, and staff for supporting this event. We enjoyed the opportunity to welcome and engage with so many visitors, and we look forward to having Thunder players on campus again this summer.
We saw some phenomenal athleticism -- including the cup final between France and victors South Africa -- and were thrilled to cheer on Shawnigan athletes Emily F, who played on the Rugby Canada U18 Development 7s team that won the Girls U18 Elite division of the Vancouver Rugby Festival. Emily's team defeated the BC Girls U18 team that Sammi L and Gracie Mc played on. Ciaran B and Brenner K played on the BC U18 side that won the Elite division.
