Shawnigan's Grade 9s have survived a perilous voyage around the school docks.
On Sunday, the cohort met at the Read Crewhouse for a team-building exercise fit for a summer's day.
Using materials provided to them as well as any recyclables they could find on campus, the students built an impressive array of rafts designed to carry at least three passengers.
In teams of 5-6, they raced around a buoy and back, with the end goals of getting to know each other better and having fun.
