Montreal Trip

Secondary Schools United Nations Symposium
Each November, keen Model UN students embark on the multicultural trip of a lifetime to Montreal for a conference run by highly experienced McGill students. Here, delegates flex their diplomacy muscles and immerse themselves into a unique part of Canada. The debates and in-committee rhetoric are definitely valuable experiences, but the extra enrichment opportunities are what make the Montreal trip so unique. Students this year were given the opportunities to listen to former US President Barack Obama speak live, watch a Montreal Canadiens hockey game at the Bell Centre, and even attend a traditional French confessional at the historical Notre-Dame Basilica. Students also reunited with old friends at the alumni gathering and McGill alumni tour to reminisce on past Shawnigan experiences.
