The first Saturday Chapel service of the year was, by any measure, a resounding success. Led as always by Chaplain Jim Holland, the service was meant both as a way to welcome back returning students, and as an introduction for those experiencing their first taste of this uniquely Shawnigan tradition. Mr. Holland took time to explain the sequence of events, the proper tone and decorum, as well as offering the assembled masses ample opportunity to test out their vocal chords by filling the Chapel with song at every opportunity. And what a job they did! Both the Chaplain and the Headmaster commented that, if this first service is any indication, the sound emanating from the Chapel every Saturday will be at a volume that must be heard to be believed.
A reminder that parents and other members of the Shawnigan community are always welcome to join us in person at 11:15 every Saturday. If you aren't able to make it, however, there is always the opportunity to watch the proceedings on the School's Livestream page at http://www.livestream.com/shawnigan. There is also an archive on the page so you can easily catch up on any services you've missed.
