Matchups with our rivals

Undermanned because of injuries to two starting players, the Shawnigan senior boys basketball team defeated BCS 66-48 in Saturday's Showcase game on home court. The players demonstrated true commitment to team defence and frustrated their opponents for the entire game.

The team effort continued on offense with five players scoring in double figures! Litha N. led the way with 14 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Sheldon C. and Peter W. with 13 each. Linus L. chipped in 12 points and Tristan M. added 9 more.  Irvin C. played unbelievable defense to secure the win and earn a 2-0 record in league standings.

The senior boys are at home this weekend, co-hosting the Countdown Tournament. First game action takes place at 10:30 am on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Senior Girls dropped a 48-43 decision at Brentwood on Tuesday evening.

With a busload of travelling fans on hand, Shawnigan battled hard all game to overcome a small deficit, but could never quite close the gap.
