Shawnigan's Model UN group attended the PacMUN conference in Seattle, Nov. 17-21.
The first evening gave the group a chance to take in a University of Washington basketball game with an especially raucous crowd. On the second day, everyone had the day to explore Seattle and attend an evening training session on procedures. Finally, on Saturday the conference began.
While the Shawnigan delegation was split up into many different committees, everyone was pleased with the staff's dedication and work in creating a fun conference. All in all, it was a great trip.
In terms of awards, Anders F. and Lea C. got honourable mentions, Zain K. received the most outstanding delegate and Mary N. was honoured with the best delegate in her committee.
Many thanks go to Mr. Klassen and Mrs. Carballo for coming with us and keeping us on track.
