Shawnigan Lake rowing
The first races of the year
Shawnigan rowers battled through rainy, foggy skies to post some promising results in the first races of the season, at this weekend's Hungerford / Head of the Lake Regattas.
A large number of Shawnigan athletes enjoyed their first competitive action as the School welcomed crews from Brentwood, Victoria and Maple Bay, as well as UVic and several national team boats.
The head races were delayed on Sunday due to some thick fog, but eventually did proceed, allowing Shawnigan crews to claim seven first-place finishes, with the Grade 8's, Jr Boys, Jr Girls, Sr Boys and Sr Girls all winning races.
The Shawnigan Regatta is scheduled for May 13-15, 2016.
