Planting trees at Shawnigan

Volunteers plant the future campus

Dozens of volunteers enjoyed pleasant spring conditions on Friday, as they planted trees that will stand at Shawnigan for decades to come.

The students worked in pairs to plant 450 Douglas fir saplings, with the trees generously donated by TimberWest and expertise provided by planters from Zanzibar Holdings – a company of alumnus Tony Harrison's ’71 (Ripley's).

The trees will contribute to the School's reforestation and carbon capture initiatives, as well as providing a natural partition between the upper fields and housing on Wildflower Rd.
