Spring Break brings many storied traditions to Shawnigan. A new tradition for the School – you can now add hockey playoffs to the list.
Three ice hockey teams departed for Penticton on Wednesday, as the CSSHL (Canadian Sport School Hockey League) holds league playoffs in every division in one central location.
Last year, Shawnigan's one and only team won the CSSHL's Varsity division in the School's inaugural competitive season, providing an exciting building block for the future of the program.
This year, the School has three squads in the mix, with the top team moving up to the Prep Division, a second group looking to defend Shawnigan's Varsity Division championship, and a Bantam Prep squad competing in the under-15 age group.
Playoffs in each division consist of a short round robin followed by elimination games. Visit
