Shawnigan turns 100

April 27, 1916 – April 27, 2016

On April 27, 1916, Shawnigan's founder, C.W. Lonsdale, signed the School's first official register, launching an institution that has proved transformational in countless lives.

100 years later to the day, the School commemorated the milestone with a celebration for everyone on campus to enjoy.

With the student body lining the driveway, Wednesday's festivities began with the arrival of Headmaster David Robertson, along with Head Students Noah C. and Tai W.

The trio rode in Lonsdale's treasured 1932 Packard convertible, chauffeured by its current owners, Bill and Dorine Ramsden.

After speeches, songs and photos, the entire School enjoyed a special lunch and a birthday cake lovingly prepared for the occasion.

On Saturday, the School will welcome alumni, guests and the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the Honourable Judith Guichon, for the Official Opening of the Centennial Year.
