This I Believe

Grade 12s speak about life lessons

A receptive audience enjoyed insights and advice as Grade 12s presented This I Believe speeches on Thursday evening.

15 graduating students delivered speeches of their own creation to their peers, with topics ranging from 'Dad-bods' to 'Chocolate' to 'Respect.'

While some of the speakers were well-known to the audience, others discovered new territory, including Henrik O., who gave an unconventional, but hilarious presentation about aliens, the Illuminati and terrorist attacks.

This I believe
is a public speaking and essay writing concept based on the popular 1950's radio show hosted by legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow.

The evening, hosted by Olivia S. and Lauren N., has become an annual culminating event for the grade 12s as they reflect on life prior to graduation.
