Canada's men's field hockey team is heading to Rio with the support of Shawnigan Lake School.
Team Canada left the School on Thursday, having spent the past three days training on Shawnigan's water-based turf.
The camp included a free clinic on July 13, where community members of all ages could meet and interact with the Olympic athletes.
"It was just fantastic," says Men's National Team Head Coach Anthony Farry. "The facilities are first rate and we were really well looked after. We look forward to coming back and creating a partnership with Shawnigan."
In Rio, Canada will play in a pool alongside Germany, Argentina, the Netherlands, Ireland and India, beginning on August 6.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
