Shawnigan hockey teams combined for another busy weekend, with four teams combining for 10 games.
Midget Prep:
Shawnigan's top team faced the undefeated Delta Hockey Academy for a pair of games at the Shawnigan arena. With two minutes left in a scoreless affair Saturday evening, the teams were forced to postpone an exciting finish after a power outage on campus. Delta prevailed in a shootout when the teams finished the game the following morning. The visitors then earned a 6-2 victory in the second matchup.
Girls Varsity:
The girls squad faced another weekend of travel, with a four-game showcase in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. After losing their first two contests, 4-2 to Coeur D'Alene and 1-0 to Banff, the girls bounced back with a 3-2 win over Coeur D'Alene and a 6-1 win over Banff.
Midget Varsity:
The Midget Varsity Black team travelled to Delta, earning 8-3 and 6-1 wins over DHA. Sam G. led the way for Shawnigan, with four goals and two assists on the weekend. Shawnigan's Midget Varsity Gold team had the weekend off.
Bantam Prep:
With a weekend off CSSHL play, the bantam squad hosted the San Diego Gulls bantam program. The teams played a pair of scrimmages, with San Diego also facing teams from Nanaimo and Victoria. The Californians stayed on campus, enjoying meals with their Shawnigan counterparts and a short tour of Vancouver Island.
