On Wednesday, Oct. 26, a group of Shawnigan runners ventured to Beaver Lake Park in Victoria to compete in the Island Cross Country Championships. The up-and-down course was challenging and wet, but exciting.
High schools came from all over Vancouver Island to race in this qualifier for the Provincial Championships.
In the Jr. Boys race, Ethan R. finished in respectful 22nd. In the Sr. Boys race, Angus B. placed 2nd – an amazing accomplishment considering the high caliber of runners on the island. Angus now has his sights set on the B.C. High School Cross Country Championships in Kelowna on Nov. 5.
Special thanks and congratulations to all Shawnigan runners who came down to compete.
