Shawnigan's squash team earned strong results at this weekend's Alberta Jesters Junior Open.

Facing the top players from across the country, Shawnigan athletes provided five podium finishes in different divisions.

Current Canadian No. 1 Michael M. won the under-19 boys event, after beating teammate Ryan P. (3-1) in another close match in the semifinals.

Nour E. also fought to a third-place finish, despite suffering an ankle injury in her semifinal.

Aaron W. (2nd in the boys U-15 bronze event) and Justin M. (3rd in the boys U-17 bronze event) also had strong showings.

"It was a great experience for our players, particularly some of them who aren't used to this level of competition," says Shawnigan Coach Mike Johnson. "I'm really pleased with how they did."
