House Chapel

Copeman's and Renfrew lead the Saturday Service

Renfrew and Copeman's Houses showed their appreciation as they led Shawnigan's weekly chapel service on Saturday.

Opening the service, Copeman's Head of House James P. said "As you move through life, it's important to recognize the people and circumstances that have helped to shape you into the person you are."

James' remarks set the tone for a morning of gratitude. On behalf of his peers, he thanked those who have played a role in his own development, from school staff to his own family.

During her turn at the podium, Renfrew Head of House Alexis W. recalled her first day joining what she had heard was the 'Misfit House.'   Alexis spoke of the power of 60 girls who made her feel at home, and how she now sees Renfrew as the 'House of personality.'

Musical performances included five girls performing a cover of A Life That's Good from the TV show Nashville and Alan L's remarkable piano interpretation of Maksim Mrvica's Croatian Rhapsody. Introducing a new idea, five students from the two houses formed a 'Gratitude Circle,' where each paid tribute to those in the grade above them.

Closing the service, Headmaster David Robertson shared his gratitude for those who had shared their gifts with the School, calling it "another excellent Shawnigan Chapel presentation with meaningful emotions and very valid messages."
