The 26th Annual
The 26th annual Shawnigan Golf Classic was a huge success, as golfers enjoyed a perfect day on the course, followed by dinner and awards.
This year included many special moments, with the highlight of the evening being a speech by Ash Varma ’75 wishing his great friend, Roland Borsato, all the best in his retirement from Shawnigan. A new trophy was added to the prize table in Roland's honour this year: The Borsato Spirit Cup, which will be awarded annually to the foursome with the best team spirit. This trophy is awarded in honour of Roland Borsato ’72, whose larger-than-life persona brings a smile to everyone he encounters. Roland is the embodiment of spirit and enthusiasm, and he will forever be a Shawnigan man of passion and loyalty. Showing outstanding energy on Thursday, the Farncomb foursome was named the very first winner of the award.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
